Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has attached great importance to the protection and inheritance of Tea culture, and has vigorously promoted the development of the tea industry.
On March 22, 2021, during his inspection of the Swallow's Nest Ecological Tea Garden in Xingcun Town, Wuyi Mountain City, President Xi Jinping pointed out: “Wuyi Mountain is a place of abundant natural resources. Its Tea culture has a long history, and it has a suitable climate, distinct advantages in tea resources, and technological support, forming a thriving tea industry. We should well summarize the experience of the system of science and technology commissioners, continue to improve, consolidate, and persist in this approach. We should integrate tea culture, the tea industry, and tea science and technology. In the past, the tea industry was a pillar industry for poverty alleviation here; in the future, it should become a pillar industry for rural revitalization.”
In order to earnestly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's earnest instructions on Wuyi Mountain's tea culture, tea industry, and tea science and technology, and to further advance the “Procuratorial Protection for Enterprises” special action, handle a batch of high-quality public interest litigation cases involving the tea industry, and assist the development of the tea industry with solid case handling achievements, recently, Zhang Ying, the Party Secretary and Procurator-General of the Wuyi Mountain City People's Procuratorate, led procuratorial officers to visit multiple tea enterprises within the No. 1 Scenic Route of the Wuyi Mountain National Park. They went door-to-door to understand the protection of intellectual property rights and brands of the enterprises, as well as the protection of Geographical indication products such as Wuyi Rock Tea and Wuyi red tea, and to grasp the difficulties currently faced by the enterprises.
During the visits, Procurator-General Zhang Ying and her team visited the production workshops and storage sheds of the tea enterprises, gaining a detailed understanding of the difficulties and problems encountered by the enterprises in various aspects, including tea planting, production, processing, transactions, and employment. They listened to the enterprises' opinions and suggestions regarding the protection of their legitimate rights and interests by procuratorial organs and assistance for the healthy development of the tea industry.
They also addressed common issues related to corporate infringement, corporate crime, food product safety, the use of geographical indication marks, and employment contracts that enterprises may face. Through combining examples with on-site explanations and distributing promotional booklets, they provided detailed explanations to help the enterprises identify potential legal risks and offered targeted suggestions on how to improve management loopholes, which received unanimous praise from the enterprises.
The Wuyi Mountain City Procuratorate will deeply practice the rule of law thinking of Xi Jinping, actively implement the “Guiding Opinions of the Political and Legal Organs of Wuyi Mountain City on Serving and Safeguarding the Healthy Development of the Integration of Tea Culture, Industry, and Science and Technology,” take “Procuratorial Protection for Enterprises” as an important vehicle for serving the central work of the Party and government, give full play to the functions of the “four major procuratorial services,” and strive to provide high-quality procuratorial services to safeguard the high-quality development of Wuyi Mountain's tea industry, thereby boosting the growth and strengthening of the tea industry.
