① Food Bag and Aluminum Foil Bag Storage Method
Green tea can be wrapped in soft, clean paper and placed in a food bag or aluminum foil bag, with as much air as possible squeezed out before sealing the bag.
The best choice is food Bags or aluminum foil bags that are high-density, non-transparent, thick, strong, odorless, and well-sealed with a closing mechanism.
Tea enthusiasts with the means can vacuum-seal the tea bags to extend the tea's freshness better.
Avoid using plastic bags with odors or poor sealing.
② Metal Canister Storage Method
Green tea can be stored in metal canisters such as iron cans or Stainless steel cans with excellent airtightness. If you have a new canister or one with an odor, place a small amount of tea dust inside, close the lid, and shake the canister gently from all directions before discarding the tea dust to remove any unwanted smells.
Avoid placing the canister in direct sunlight, areas with odors, dampness, or heat sources. This prevents rusting of the iron canister and slows down the aging process of the green tea.
③ Earthenware Canister Storage Method
When storing green tea in an earthenware canister, place double-layered cotton paper at the bottom of the canister and two layers of cotton cloth over the opening before placing the lid on top.
④ Refrigerator Storage Method
Green tea is best stored sealed in a refrigerator at 0°C–10°C, and long-term storage is best at 0–5°C. If you have a large quantity of green tea at home, it's best to prepare a dedicated small refrigerator for storing green tea, set at 0-5°C. Seal the green tea Packaging well and place it in the refrigerator for long-term storage. Do not store other foods in the refrigerator used for tea to avoid the tea absorbing odors.
