In the autumn and winter seasons, savoring a cup of Black Tea not only warms the body but also invigorates the mind.
However, do you know where the birthplace of Sichuan black tea is?
Let's step into the Chinese Sichuan Black Tea Museum in Junlian County, Yibin City, to look back at history.
This place has witnessed the birth and development of Sichuan black tea—In 1951, the China Tea Corporation set up a black tea technology promotion station in Junlian, and Sichuan black tea was officially born that year.
In 1959, the “Golden Yellow Dew Bud Tea” carefully crafted by the Junlian Red Star Tea Factory was sent to Beijing as a gift for the tenth anniversary of National Day.
In 1985, Sichuan black tea won the gold award at the 24th World Food Fair.
Today, Sichuan black tea is continuously expanding its domestic and overseas markets, gaining more recognition.
Moving beyond history and towards the future, a cup of Sichuan black tea is not just a cup of black tea; it is also a focal point for Yibin City and Junlian County's efforts to explore new paths for the synchronized development of urban and rural areas based on local conditions.
Yinxing Village, located in the core area of the Junlian Sichuan Black Tea Special Town, is a “100 million yuan village,” with 22,000 mu of tea gardens and 13 high-quality Tea processing enterprises spread across its 20 square kilometers of land.
Leveraging the Sichuan black tea brand, Yinxing Village focuses on developing ecological tea gardens in the primary industry, targets cluster development of tea enterprises in the secondary industry, and expands integrated tea tourism in the tertiary industry. Currently, the comprehensive value of the village's tea industry has reached 656 million yuan.
In the Yinxing Village black tea industrial park, there are tea-related businesses such as the Tea Tasting Street and the August First Tea Mountain, as well as plans for new tourism products like the Tea Sea Campground, fishing center, and cycling trails, with projects expected to be completed by June 2024.
At that time, don't miss out if you love black tea!
