Basic Introduction to Cheebu Qingqianliu

Cheebu Qingqianliu Tea is a specialty of Chengbu, Shaoyang, Hunan. Qingqianliu original leaf tea is mainly divided into ancient tree bud leaf tea, nursery tea, and fallen leaf tea, with the ancient tree original leaf tea being of the highest quality. The tea soup of ancient tree original leaf tea is golden and bright, with a taste like gushing sweet spring water upon entry.

The main products of Qingqianliu include Qingqianliu tea (including strip tea and bagged tea), Qingqianliu blended tea, Qingqianliu tea beverage, and Qingqianliu lozenges, with the main production area being the Chengbu Miao Autonomous County.

As forestry research institutes and medical colleges across the country further studied it, they found that Qingqianliu contains large amounts of organic and inorganic nutrients, showing significant effects in lowering sugar, blood pressure, and blood lipids, as well as enhancing immunity, antioxidation, and anti-aging. Some processing enterprises have continuously explored ways to process Qingqianliu leaves into tea, which has gained high local recognition and is sold far and wide in places such as Liaoning, Beijing, Shandong, Hunan, Guangdong, Fujian, Taiwan, and other areas.

History and Folk Customs

In Chengbu, Qingqianliu Tea was merely a kind of “sweet tea” enjoyed before and after meals by the locals. People knew only that its taste was excellent and that they felt very comfortable after drinking it, but they were unaware of its rich content of trace elements. Starting from 1979, Professor Cao Tieren of Central South University of Forestry and Technology organized a team of about a dozen people. Over five years, they combed through the vast forests of Chengbu. In places such as Liangjiang Canyon, Dayang, Chang'an Camp, Lanrong, Tingping, Dagǔ, and Weixi (covering most of the townships in Chengbu), they discovered large numbers of wild Qingqianliu trees, later identified by the national forestry department as the largest wild Qingqianliu cluster. As forestry research institutes and medical colleges across the country further studied it, they found that Qingqianliu contains large amounts of organic and inorganic nutrients, showing significant effects in lowering blood sugar, blood pressure, and blood lipids, as well as enhancing immunity, antioxidation, and anti-aging. Some processing enterprises have continuously explored ways to process Qingqianliu leaves into tea, gaining high local recognition.
